Tournament Setup

1st step is registering for your FREE Square Fundraising Manager account HERE!
During the registration, please make sure that a Paypal and/or Venmo account address is included in your manager profile, so that participating team managers have digital donor options. If this is not entered on signup, click on the “PayPal/Venmo Settings” button and submit. If you wish to handle tournament payments via other means, please leave the fields blank.
1. GETTING STARTED / Login to your manager dashboard and click on “Add New Tournament Manager Fundraiser” and from there you can fully construct your Tournament platform page. You can finalize the price of team participation, the applicable sport and age group, the start/end date and registration deadlines, along with any teams/managers that have committed to participating. Managers can also add and set the customized rules/regulations on the tournament homepage. If you’d prefer to have managers sign up themselves for the tournament, simply X out the fields for teams/managers information and hit “submit”, but don’t forget your own team registration!
Please be advised that a registration section is located on your tournament homepage as well for interested teams/managers. Filling the tournament roster with competing teams should be top priority once the tournament page is completed. You can share the public links available in the manager “team dashboard” login, or share the tournament page via Facebook/X with a point/click. Tournament maintenance along the way will include (but not be limited to):
- DONOR STATUS ADJUST / To change a team’s payment status in the "fundraiser backend" section, click on the “member payment statuses” tab in the “fundraiser backend” section and click on “set to paid” next to their names, or click the boxes and adjust statuses in bulk. This will change their status from red to green on the main board.
- ADDING NEW TEAMS MANUALLY / If a team confirms participation with the tournament manager, they can add the team themselves by logging into the “Fundraiser Configuration” section of the Team Dashboard manager login. Scroll down and add/submit new team information.
2. ADDING GAME LOCATIONS / Next stop is the “Add Game Locations” page where you can submit field name and addresses for your tournament competition. Location names and addresses will be listed on the main scheduling link for spectator and participating team’s reference. Locations are added one at a time – you’ll be forwarded to the “Pool Play Game” page after you enter your 1st location – just click “Add Game Locations” tab if you need to enter more.
3. FINALIZING YOUR TOURNAMENT TEAM ROSTER / Prior to creating games and/or building your bracket, you’ll need to make sure all applicable teams have been added and finalized in the tournament build. Adding pool play games and/or a bracket should be the last step in the process.
4. ADDING/CREATING POOL PLAY OR BRACKET / Finally…your roster of competing teams is complete, and it’s time for setting up your pool play, or bracket for your tournament. After adding locations, you’ll be forwarded to a page that has options to submit your “pool play settings”, along with pool play game creation options which include “Auto Create”, “Manual Create”, and/or “Drag/Drop Game Create” for tournament pool play games. “Manual Create” and “Drag/Drop” options includes all details, but if you “Auto Create” you’ll need to submit additional field/date/time details for each game. This can be edited directly on the pool play standings/schedule page in the left side “Edit” field. Only logged in managers can adjust game details. Pool seeding and designation is also adjustable by clicking on the “assign pool/seeding” tab (A/B/C pool, etc).
For bracket creation, click “Add/Edit Bracket” and you’ll see the “Bracket Generator” page where you choose between single/double/three-game (round robin) elimination options. On this page you can also edit seedings and add additional teams to the competition roster (if necessary).
5. ENTERING POOL GAME RESULTS / All game details are entered and the tournament start day has arrived! Entering game results is done through the same link that game times/locations were edited. Simply click on the “Edit Game” link and add the scoring results. Bookmark the pool play schedule tab in your smartphone for entering results on the field in real time. Once your pool play is complete, you can add your final bracket. Click “Create/Edit Bracket” in the tournament backend, and scroll down to choose your elimination setting. Teams will be seeded based on their pool play results, but can be adjusted through the available links on this page. Additional teams can also be entered/removed if necessary.
Once the bracket is generated – scheduling and locations can be designated directly on the “Edit Bracket” page. Once the details are finalized the bracket page can be “published” at the bottom of the page. The “Published Bracket” link can be disseminated to team families and friends. The “published bracket” link will be available on the tournament homepage and the “pool play standings” page. Managers can bookmark the “Edit Bracket” pages on their smartphones for real time bracket editing on the field.
